YOGA + JOURNAL SPECIALTY RETREAT
FACILITATOR: Heather Foat
Becoming certified in 2010 at Zuga Yoga, Sacramento, California, Heather Foat has taught not only in yoga studios but in recovery programs, The Men’s Salvation Army, and Community Addiction and Recovery Association. She taught for more than 2 years at UCSD Hospital in the psychiatric ward, and senior behavioural unit as well as long term mental health care, Crestwood Behavioural Health, Inc in San Diego, California. For a decade Heather has been threading personal development into the practice of yoga to help people wherever they are in life.

The Hero’s Journey – Yin & Yang and Yin yoga (2 x 90 minute classes)
It’s a cycle we experience multiple times throughout our lives, the invitation to step out of the familiar and into the unknown. This human experience is called “The Hero’s Journey.”
Join an introspective yoga and journal writing adventure to be reminded that you are the hero of your own story.
Saturday : 3.00 – 4.30pm, Yin & Yang / 7.00 – 8.30pm, Yin Yoga

What is Purpose? – Yin & Yang and Yin yoga (2 x 90 minute classes)
Engage in a unique experience combining journal writing in the practice of yoga that is intended to ignite a sense of deliberateness, purpose and power from within. Quiet mental chatter and connect to your wiser self to aid you towards self direction and discovery.
Sunday : 2.00 – 3.30pm, Yin Yoga / 4.00 – 5.30pm, Yin & Yang

Yin & Yang
Creatively flow connecting breath with movement in a practice that will have you engage in standing postures to develop strength and balance, and grounding postures to extend and stretch. Journal questions are probed whilst holding poses.
Yin Yoga
Relax in this meditative yoga practice. Hold postures for 3-5 minutes to effectively elongate muscular and connective tissues. Journal questions are probed whilst holding poses.
